A Regional Adventuring Corporation
We launched this endeavor with a clear point of view: fantasy D&D, but make it The Office. Those original marching orders have informed the strip in subtle ways, mostly amounting to word choices that hint at a bigger world. Said another way: while the art was busy art-ing, I’ve been in the corner writing on the walls with something dark and viscous that one hopes is just mud.
Today’s strip is the first in an arc that sees our heroes face their greatest danger yet: the indifferent, grinding gears of corporate compliance. The face of Torchbearer’s Exploration Corp (TEC) is a balding elven man, a cherub by way of Porkies.
Perlen Sunbrook is not the strip’s spirit animal. He’s more like our Belsnickel—loud, mostly harmless, definitely not correct, politically or otherwise.
