The Dungeon webcomic was conceived of several years ago and hashed out over tacos. We then did nothing with the idea because we were too busy playing Dungeons & Dragons.
Your mileage may vary in proportion to your familiarity with Dungeons & Dragons, principally, but also things like The Office, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc. The humor is not so inside baseball that you have to play D&D to get it. The payload will just be of a higher yield.
We’re also releasing a serialized story called Deephouse that takes place in the world of The Dungeon. Different characters, same vibe. Deephouse is basically The Dungeon without pictures.
We are anti-AI; everything you see and read was crafted by humans who secretly wish they were elven sorcerers or dwarven bellydancers.
Gray Wizard Studios
Eric Pierce and Shawn Davis formed Gray Wizard Studios, LLC in 2020. We successfully Kickstarted a D&D supplement and then quietly retired to Hobbit holes. Unfortunately, the price of Longbottom Leaf skyrocketed and ate up our residuals.
We come back to you now, at the turn of the tide, that we may again know such days of splendor. Now with 33.3% more firepower! Chad Dush, fellow fanatic of all things dungeon, recently joined GWS. Imagine the joining of the Two Towers but, like, with three. That’s the kind of conspiratorial synergies we’re talking about.
GWS was originally created to publish gaming related materials, and so we shall. But we’re equally interested in telling fantasy stories. If any of that is of interest, you’ll be well-nourished here.
